jumpstart
At AAEC South Mountain High School, we have developed a program for all incoming freshmen. JumpStart is a program developed to assist incoming freshmen students with the transition into high school.
AAEC teachers, administrators, and staff are dedicated to providing our ninth grade students with a proactive and positive introduction to high school. The JumpStart program is designed to give students the tools and supports needed to get the year off to a great start and reduce the anxieties that come along with entering a new learning environment. During JumpStart students will have the opportunity to meet their peers, work with teachers, get prepared for their first semester of high school, and have fun!
Topics covered in JumpStart:
JumpStart will take place Monday through Thursday during the weeks of August 15th and August 22nd for the 2016-2017 school year. Participants will attend sessions for either 1 hour after school on each day or 2 hours on Mon. and Wed. Schedules for freshman will be determined during the first week of school.
